A visit with friends

Theo and I went to lunch with some of our message board friends last Friday. They brought their kids along and we had a great time. It is so nice to meet them in person, but I do already feel like I've known them forever because of all of their posts on the board. Here's a picture of us in Fairhaven in front of the Harris Ave. Cafe (yeah for yam chips!!)

24 weeks already??

Well, I am 24 weeks pregnant already. Can you believe it's gone by so quickly? For those of you who prefer simplicity, that's 5 months. I am starting to show more and more, but can still cover it up very well with a sweatshirt or coat. People still respond with a surprised look when I tell them I'm pregnant, so I must not be too big yet. I look incredibly pregnant when I'm naked or when I wear a tight maternity shirt.

All in all, I am healthy and doing well. I don't feel that this pregnancy has slowed me down much yet, but I am much more sleepy in the afternoons. I take a nap whenever I can. It also helps that Theo is sleeping through the night much more often these days. Not getting up in the night for a couple of months would be pretty nice, but I'm not counting on it! :)

I'll have Andy start taking weekly pictures of me tomorrow. Before about 24 or 25 weeks there really isn't much to photograph. During the 1st trimester all you would notice is the bags under my eyes and the green-ish color or my skin. I felt pretty awful during those months and had zero appetite.

Now, I wouldn't say I "glow", but I look rosy and fairly healthy. I am so looking forward to this new person joining our family. I can't believe we have the opportunity to be a part of this miracle again! The baby is kicking almost all the time these days and I love looking down at my belly and seeing everything jump. I had forgotten how fun this part is.

Anyone want to suggest some names?? We didn't find out the baby's sex (of course), so we'll need ideas for boys or girls.

Chilly weather is here!

Last week, Memaw (my mom) and Grandmalew (Andy's mom) came to stay with me while Andy was out of town on a school retreat. They brought along things for Theo, of course, which included several sweatsuits and a new sweater. I am always grateful for the way our families take care of us, but I guessed it would still be a few weeks before we needed such warm clothes. I was wrong. Bellingham was cold today! I mean c-o-l-d! I even thought about turning on the heat (which I didn't...we like to challenge ourselves to leave it off as long as possible). Theo has worn a sweatsuit, sweater, coat, hat, or something else warm every day this week. I don't know how warm he stays since he always has a gigantic ring of drool around his neck. These are pictures of him in his new bear sweater from earlier this week. He had a little runny nose today, so he's already in bed. We'll see if he dries up enough to go to church tomorrow. I never quite know how sick is sick enough to keep him home. I guess that's the problem with having a kid who is always well. I'll just count my blessings and pray for speedy healing for our little boy.

Our little walker

Theo got some new shoes in the mail from his Gammylew (Andy's mom) today. They're pretty cute and she said she got a good deal on them at a kids shop in Silverdale. Theo wasn't exactly sure what they were when we first put them on, but he was able to stand up and walk and he has a little bit of grow room, so I think they're just right. He and Andy are off on a walk to the fruit stand to pick up some dill for a carrot soup I'm making for dinner. Here are some cute pictures of our boy and his shoes.

Friday night

It's so nice to all be home together this evening. Andy and Theo played while I took a nice nap and they even finished the mountain of dishes we had made yesterday and today. Here are a few shots of Theo playing basketball in the living room.

P.S. Yes...we know he has a lot of bruises on his face. He isn't very skilled at looking where he's going just yet. As soon as the bruises clear up, he somehow manages to get new ones.

2nd haircut

I gave Theo his 2nd haircut today. I am incredibly unskilled in haircutting, but babies always look cute, right? Andy thinks he looks just like Danny (his youngest brother) as a toddler now. The front is kindof too straight, but it will grow. As you can see from the picture....he's still a very handsome boy.
