Better than I expected

It actually snowed quite a bit more last night and has gotten even colder. That combination has led to pretty much everything around here being closed/cancelled/called off for the day. I had gone to bed not expecting to see anything more than slush on the ground and class to attend. Now we just have to figure out how we will use this new gift of free time and no commitments.

Snowy evening

Here's the parking lot just a few minutes ago. It's starting to pile up and I still have to go to practice at church and then pick up Sarah at dance. I actually enjoy driving in the snow, but I still would rather not have to go anywhere.
And for the camera geeks in the audience I took the original photo (this is a resized copy) at F2.8 with a 6 second exposure on ISO-100. <----- my dad will understand all that.

It's Snowing!!!!

I was driving home from dropping off Sarah at dance and the snow was coming down at a more appropriate rate for cancelling school tomorrow. If it can keep this up for a while and the temperatures stay low I may have an extra day off tomorrow! A picture should be up soon. Due to these posts being most recent at the top anyone who reads this will have already seen the photo most likely!

Traffic

We were on our way back from the airport and going the "quick" way to the bridge. It really was faster than the other option of staying on the highway, but it still wasn't exactly free of traffic. This was the Tuesday before Christmas and apparently everyone else decided to both pick people up at the airport and drive across the bridge!

Christmas Pic

Getting ready for Christmas at my parents' house. That isn't even my stocking, but it was the nearest prop I could find so I didn't just stand there looking like a dope... maybe it didn't quite prevent that from happening anyway.

'05

Last night we had to tune in a fuzzy radio station to hear an official countdown for the end of the year, and beginning of the new one. We only could hear it from 4 down so we had to hurry and ready our party poppers quickly. It was once again a reminder that it really is a celebration of one second ticking by; no different from the second that is ticking by as I type this word. Hey, did I use the semicolon correctly in that sentence? Anyone with more clear understanding of the use of the semicolon should let me know, because I think I did it correctly.
Okay, I think I'm going to find some pictures to put up from the holidays. Happy 2005!
